talipot palm
for those of you who have not seen it, here is the talipot palm. i think its starting to die already. wonder how long it stays in bloom for.
anyway, daylight was fading when i took the photo. it looks much better in the sun.

I live in Vancouver Canada and was at the Singapore Botanic Garden on April 1, 2005 and saw the palm you have on your blog. I was quite impressed with this rare plant and was looking it up on Google and came across your post. It was unreal as I had basically taken the exact photo you did and was sending out to some of my friends who collect exotic plants. I am back in Vancouver now. I enjoyed Singapore and Bali very much but your heat and humidity are hard for Canadians to take.
