er, where is the chicken, and where's the rice?
this is the nastiest army ration according to my cousin, as well as what i got in return for buying him a 6GB mini ipod. he wanted me to know how much he has suffered, having to eat this sort of SH*T in the army.so after i opened the packet, there was this foul smell. i kid you not - it looks, smells and tastes like dog food. (ok - not that i have tried canned dog food, but you get the idea). after a little taste, i had to give the rest to the dogs. it really is not fit for human consumption.

I hope the dogs didn't get sick from it!!
Hey... Braised Chicken with Rice is one of the better ones in the pack. It is already an improvement from the previous set of combat rations.
Terz is right. I still remember the 'good old days' when all you got to shared between 2 people for one day was:
- a can of baked beans
- a can of sardines
- a can of braised chicken
- a bar of Cadbury's chocolate
- jam
- powdered lemon drink
- all the hard tack you could possibly want/carry
The beans made you fart, the sardines made your breath smell, and so you avoided them both if you were going on a recce mission, or going to be on point (they used to tell us the story of a Gurkha who once smelled one of our sections approaching in the jungle), leaving you the braised chicken.
Ah, the good old days.
You mean, "Ugh, the good old days"?
I don't think I'd have survived being in Aceh on those rations.
