i rang up IRAS earlier to make enquiries about my tax. after putting me through a string of recorded voice instructions, i was told that i would be put through to an officer who would assist me. after just
ONE ring, the recorded voice message told me that they were all engaged. i tried this a few times, and every single time, the same thing happened.
it depresses me to think about the sort of efficiency
they claim to have.

i braved the extreme cold (-25 degrees celsius - yes, i had to say it again!) and went outside of the warmish cabin to take some shots.

The Blue Nile again. if you've still not heard the band, check them out. they're simply amazing. not the kind of music you'd want at a party, but it's perfect for a quiet night in.
also saw Ray on HBO. funny how similar Walk the Line is to it. i guess there is something about brilliant musicians, artists and the like. something in their childhood traumatises them, but because they are brilliant anyway, this spurs them on to become something extraordinary, and then their success becomes threatened inevitably by some kind of addiction, be it drugs or alcohol. then they quit it and become legends...

i've been feeling a little vertigo for the last few days, and today, i gave in and went to the doctor. As i've suspected, i've got a middle ear infection again.
NABEH! i've been having this same infection for many months already, and it keeps coming back? WTF!

quiet night in with The Blue Nile all night. very good idea, especially as i am trying to rid myself of this terrible marathon (7 days now) headache that runs all the way from my right temple down to my neck!
i suppose trying to sort out the hundreds of photographs i took over the 2 weekends - Thaipusam, Ampulets' wedding, and my sister's - doesn't really help the headache situation!
